Our 2nd Tuesday Parkinson's Support Group was established in April 2017 by Senior Helpers of Panama City to share the Parkinson's Care Program and strategies for motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. We met every month except on Tuesday 10/10/18 when hurricane Michael destroyed Panama City and the Panhandle.

People who attend our meetings are people living with Parkinson's disease and their Care partners or healthcare professionals who want to share information about PD. Our 2nd Tuesday has become a "point of contact" for those living with Parkinson's disease and healthcare professionals who have resources for living your best life with PD.
We have a Parkinson's disease library available at our meetings with books and pamphlets on loan or free that provide education, support, and resources for people who attend. When we have a guest speaker, that person provides Parkinson's-specific information about resources, research, exercise programs, medications, and more.
The worst thing that a person living with Parkinson's disease can do is "stop moving." Exercise is the key to improved function. It is also important to get information, do your research, share news with family and friends, and find support for your journey.
After the guest speaker has finished, people have an opportunity to ask questions and share life experiences. We use the Parkinson’s Care Program® (created by Senior Helpers) that offers solutions and strategies for motor and non-motor symptoms. Join us this month to experience the difference a support group can make in your life.
