Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other cognitive abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases.

How did the Alzheimer's Association get Started?

40 years ago, Alzheimer's disease was not discussed at the dinner table or at the doctor's office.  But then a group who were devastated by the disease got together to change that and formed the Alzheimer's Association.
